NHS - e-learning

Brief:
The Derbyshire County Health Service (DCHS) had a requirement to train Nursing staff on the best practices relating to Good Record Keeping. The training would be on 2 levels, one as a self directed learner working through the material alone either from the DCHS intranet or from CD. Secondly as a facilitated training course with a trainer going through the digital course in a more traditional classroom situation.

Solution:
Sprout created a browser based eLearning course using XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash Video technologies which branched according to whether the user was studying alone or in a classroom situation. The course provided information using presentation pages and videos to impart knowledge. This knowlegde was then further reinforced thorugh interactive sections asking for user input either as freeform questions or multiple choice scenarios.

To make the resource useful long after the users had completed the learning material there was a comprehensive library of referrence documents and examples of good Record keeping practice available from within the menu, making it a great source of information also.
